Dutch Mezzosoprano Hanna de Bruin is currently studying for her Master’s degree (MMus Performance) at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under the tutelage of Scott Johnson.

Hanna received bursaries from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Scholarship Trust, VSBfonds Beurs, Hendrik Muller Fonds and Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds to make her dream of studying in the UK come true.
In November 2021, she was awarded with the Margit Widlund Stipendium - a bursary in collaboration with Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds - which is awarded to young and talented singers.

In the summer of 2020, she graduated from her Bachelor of Music at Fontys Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Tilburg (NL), where she studied with Sinan Vural and Margriet van Reisen.
After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree she took a year off to audition, give concerts and enjoy lessons. In this year she studied with Xenia Meijer, Sinan Vural and Margriet van Reisen.

Since September 2017, Hanna has worked intensively with pianist Manon Berendschot, who together form ‘Duo for a While’.
In April 2021 they were awarded the second prize at the Willem Twee Chamber Music Contest.

Hanna loves to explore the possibilities of her voice and is always looking for repertoire which is not well known by the audience.

When she isn't singing, which is rarely the case, she loves practising karate, baking, playing the piano and going to the cinema.
